Artist's Statement

My art is about investigating identity and human experience in its perpetual state of flux. The fulfillment I gain from creating and presenting art can be described as two separate spheres. One sphere is wholly internal; I can choose to be intimate, or vulnerable, or detached in ways I can’t during daily life. The other is purely external, when my audience finds meaning that resonates with them in a way I never would’ve considered. Art is my way of listening to others while also being listened to. In a safe, curated space, my audience chooses whether or not they engage, thus acting as a conduit for interconnection that otherwise wouldn't have happened.
